Opinion: It’s time to change the conversation about the economy and climate change

PACE Advisor Jane Savage co-authored an opinion in the Calgary Herald calling for less political grandstanding and more action when it comes to addressing Canada’s emissions. With the effects of climate change becoming increasingly dangerous and destructive, the article urges Canadian leaders to spend less time feeding divisiveness and more time focusing on fostering longterm, sustainable change.

It is time for Prime Minister Mark Carney, Premier Danielle Smith and other elected leaders to convene individuals from all sectors to create a net-zero vision for Canada’s 2050 economy. Let’s drop the tiresome positioning of the past and start real nation-building. Saving our boreal forest, slowing global warming and guaranteeing Canada’s economic prosperity in the decades ahead depends on it.
