margriet-kuijperMargriet Kuijper is a civil engineer whose 30-year career at Shell included specializing in climate change and Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS). Since 2016, she has worked as an independent consultant on CCS, Carbon Dioxide Removal (CDR) and climate policy. Together with De Gemeynt and RoyalHaskoningDHV, Margriet is currently working on a study of the potential of a Carbon Take Back Obligation (CTBO) to ensure timely reduction of the emissions of fossil fuels.

Margriet is a co-author of several significant papers and materials on CTBO policy and CCS. These include the updated report on CO2 Transport and Storage in the Netherlands (Gasunie, EBN, 2017), the Netherlands CCS Roadmap (for ministry of EZK, 2018) and the Netherlands CCUS Pathfinder report (OGCI). Margriet’s positions at Shell included working in project management, Health, Safety and Environment (HSE), social performance, and CCS. She earned her degree from Delft University of Technology in the Netherlands.
