Since 2016, she has worked as an independent consultant on CCS, Carbon Dioxide Removal (CDR) and climate policy. Together with De Gemeynt and RoyalHaskoningDHV, Margriet is currently working on a study of the potential of a Carbon Take Back Obligation (CTBO) to ensure timely reduction of the emissions of fossil fuels.
